Perpetually "under construction"

This site is more my "web developer's playground" than anything else. Reading about techniques for page layouts & design, I found a few I really liked and decided to make them work together. And I thought I might as well make it look cool too. My inspiration included:

• The Complex Spiral demo; I used the "Smoke" image from the Fractal Bargain Bin as my background, and made modified versions of it in Photoshop. It doesn't display as intended in IE 6, but works in every other browser I've tried.
• The Jello Mold layout.
• The Full Height (or Sticky Footer) layout.
